Depression | ADHD | Anxiety
I specialize in depression, anxiety, and ADHD. As well as substance abuse disorders, existential concerns, personality disorders, and life transitions.
Weekly sessions are essential to build the therapeutic connection quickly. As your symptoms begin to lessen, we can reduce the frequency of our meetings.
I specialize in childhood disruptive, oppositional, and attentional challenges. Ages 7 and up.
While it is most often the child who finds themself in the office of a therapist, work with the parents is equally important.
This will look like weekly sessions with your child, as well as sessions with parents. Initially I will meet with you to discuss concerns, observations, and goals you might have for your child and family. I find monthly parent sessions to be a nice cadence to start out with. In the parent sessions we will discuss observations of the child's progress, develop strategies for you to respond to your child's emotionality, and explore your own emotional experience of being with your kid in difficult times.
I utilize an experiential and relational approach to working with children. This involves a combination of play, exploration, and discussion. Therapy should be fun! and making sure your kid has a positive association with coming to therapy is a primary initial goal.
The ultimate goal is to allow for your child to develop a sense of themselves that incorporates ways to regulate, identify emotions, and supportive outlets for these emotions.
